arowana food Help with ranchu tank

Hi all,
Currently I have one matured sponge filter (transferred from my 2ft well-cycled tank) and one 1-week old sponge filter+biohome in my 3 foot tank with 6 2-4" ranchus.
My ammonia parameters have not been looking good, as I believe my current BBs in my matured sponge filter are not sufficient to handle the increase in wastes. Ammonia readings have been at 4ppm daily and I have performed 16.7%-20% wcs daily. My main aim is to complete the natural cycling process as soon as possible.
My question is this, I intend to add a OHF meant for a 1.5ft tank. Purpose is to build up additional BBs in the OHF and also provide mechanical filtration. Will this be a good idea for my 3ft ranchu tank?
Also, what filter media should I look at? I am thinking top layer sponge, followed by ceramic rings/biohome. Is this a good idea?
Anything else should I take note?
Thanks

Thanks OHF is ok but why 1.5ft only...???get a 3 ft one since u using a 3ft tank....i only use bio homme plus in my ohf last time and some filter wool on top of it...thats all i use last time...no problems with water parameters...also ohf is easy to change filter wool since our gfs are sh*t factories...
Now i using a corner filter, a fluval c2 hob filter and a 2228 canister...no more ohf cause looks ugly on my 2ft...and anyway changed my lights to beamswork so will look very nice with bare top...

Cus I already have a 1.5ft OHF from previous tanks. If can use then can save money no need buy a new one and can also put old things to good use I also intend to leave my existing 2 sponge filters alone, so I think these 3 filters should be more than enough
Besides biohomme plus, can I also use other ceramic rings like from QianHu? Any bros know of other recommendations and where to get?
>Bro just use the existing bio media and OHF for the time being. To reduce ammonia, WC is the most effective way and you can actually add in BBs to expedite the cycling process if you need.

I will add the OHF with sponge and biohomme plus/ceramic rings, perform daily 15-20% wcs and monitor ammonia levels daily. I also have super battle bacteria 8000 from Ocean Free and OF Pure Liquid but decided to put on hold adding anything else to let the tank cycle naturally ba.
Situs bro, got any recommendations to use for filter media besides biohomme? Can I use the cheaper ceramic rings?
Thanks bros for the replies
>Yes bro, use those rough surface ceramic ring as it provide better hold for BBs.
OF 8000 is a good product but I will go for otto PSB bacteria which is more economy
>thanks bros for the advice! Just added the OHF filled with sponge and biohome. Will update condition of tank soon
Cheers!
>Hi hi. Not so sure if biogical will help in gf case because the load is so heavy. I only use cotton wool for my tank ohf as mechanical filter.

Having filter is a plus point in goldfish tank bro, the key factor to maintain the health, growth and active is through WC frequently.
>Hi bros, thanks for the advice! I have been carrying out daily wcs without fail so hope my hard work will pay off
